The United States Geological Survey said a 6.7 magnitude earthquake was 280 km from the Pacific Ocean from the Philippines early Thursday (08/10/2009). Three more will follow in the vicinity of the northern Pacific islands of Vanuatu with an earthquake 7.8 294 km west of the island of Espiritu Santo.

The new tsunami warning is a little more than a week after a 8.3 earthquake, a tsunami in Samoa and American Samoa, which has caused at least 178 people were killed, and an earthquake measuring 7.6 devastated the 'Indonesian island of Sumatra.
