What is tsunami ?

Tsunami is a series of waves of water, which is caused by the displacement of a large quantity of a body of water like an ocean.The original Japanese word literally means "harbor wave." Tsunamis are in Japan, together more than 195 events, the huge amounts of water and energy were involved recorded. Due Tsunamis can devastate coastal regions. Losses can be high because the waves can run faster than man.



Generated by sudden displacements in the sea floor, landslides, or volcanic activity. In the deep ocean, the tsunami wave may only be a few inches high. The tsunami wave may come gently ashore or may increase in height to become a fast moving wall of turbulent water several meters high.
