American Samoa radio station honoured for tsunami efforts
American Samoa Radio 93 KHJ Pago Pago in the channels Idea Bank International (IBIB) for the efforts of the station informing the public of the devastating tsunami was honored last month. The IBIB represents 450 radio stations in the U.S. and the Pacific.
IBIB Executive Director David Luther said, saved the warning issued by KHJ probably many lives in American Samoa. Mr. Luther also praised the station for the restoration of emissions as soon as possible if he created a makeshift studio at the transmitter site of the Mountain Resort.
KHJ General Manager Joey Cummings and co-anchor of the morning show, Lupe Lu Lohman, in the air when the earthquake and tsunami, as a special channel which has been welcomed at their posts than they were catastrophic.
